When I was five years old I watched a family member receive a foot massage and I was fascinated that such a simple looking task could provide such relief and enjoyment. I was hooked, when I saw my mom looking tired from a long day I would offer to massage her feet, which she often accepted with a smile. As I got older I learned to to give a shoulder massage to help my friends with their aching back and shoulders. Later I discovered the personal benefits of receiving regular massage myself.
It was the culmination of a life long dream when my life came together last year to support my attendance at the National Holistic Institute College of Massage. It still gives me great pleasure to see the relaxing and healing effect a good massage can have on a person. I love understanding Kinesiology, the movement of the body, the muscles and the bones and how our everyday activities affect us. With over 900 hours of schooling under my belt I have more confidence in my ability to assess my client and find the most effective way to address their concerns. Now I have the foundation under me to really be a great massage therapist.
Every client is unique and has specific concerns. It is my goal to facilitate relaxation and healing every time I work on someone. National Holistic Institute has prepared me to use a number of modalities to achieve this goal including Swedish, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Therapy, Reflexology and a few more modalities.
